Building on our history of dual antenna hybrid SNG's STS is please to announce that STS 4, our original hybrid SNG is back on the road after a complete rebuild.
Building on the success of STS 8 a dual antenna Hybrid SNG with 2 roof mount antennas STS took to completely redesigning our original hybrid SNG to reduce its footprint whilst increasing its capabilities.
"We have reduced the overall on site foot print of this truck by 8m without sacrificing any of its capabilities" said Andrew Rogers, Manager Field Operations & Special Projects. "Space in Outside Broadcast compounds is becoming more restricted as broadcasters add more and more innovations to their broadcasts. We wanted to ensure we too can deliver our clients more innovations without sacrificing the diversity of delivery we have offered in the past."
STS 4 is equipped with a 1.6m Ku Band antenna with redundant 400w Xicom TWT's. On the C Band side it is equipped with a 4.5m C band antenna and redundant 750w Xicom amplifiers. On each of these antennas STS 4 is capable of SCPC or MCPC services with 10 x HD H.264 capable encoders, redundant 8 channel muxes & DVB-S2 & S2X Modulators. The truck comes complete with full video and audio monitoring, multiple decoders to receive off either antenna and a 10 channel fibre optic transport system to transport signals in and out of the truck.
